Internet culture is all about finding the right word, the right joke... or the best communication during an event. And in this little game, the fast-food chain Burger King clearly did well on Monday, September 8, judging by the number of reactions from Internet users on social networks .
While the National Assembly was overthrowing François Bayrou, who failed to gain the confidence of the deputies, the famous burger brand did not hesitate to re-release a video... of the now ex-Prime Minister in the middle of a Pau city council meeting.
Last March, François Bayrou surprised many internet users when he imitated the fast-food restaurant's slogan (" Mmmh Burger King ") during a very serious discussion about the installation of an electric car charging station in front of one of the chain's restaurants.
On X and Instagram, the brand then re-released this video on Monday evening, with a caption full of irony: " We will surely receive a CV soon ," adding a link to its internal recruitment site.
This prompted a reaction from many social media users: " No, but honestly, Burger King, we need to raise the CM's salary ," pleaded one user, while others asked Grok, the network's artificial intelligence, to create an image of the former Prime Minister working for the company.
François Bayrou also reacted to this " buzz " during an interview with our colleagues at Le Parisien : " It's my Warhol quarter of an hour ," he joked, adding that he was a " fan " of the ad. Assuring that it was a " one-second joke ," François Bayrou said he had " received many nice messages from people who (the video) made smile in these stormy times ."
